Jai Chiranjeeva!!

I am one among those fans who used "HEY CHIRU" atleast 10 times in day describing people whome i wanted to say you look like her. That is the image of Chiranjeevin i had in my heart. I grew up watching Chiranjeevi movies and i always admidered him. Even till three years back, I was riding high with pride and royalty. The reason for that is I am one of those many individuals who considered you as our demigod.

While I am not shy to admit that I am still your big fan, your recent acts have disturbed me completely and I am repeatedly feeling like asking you only one question- Why do you do this? From an emperor of Tollywood for two decades, today you are at the mercy of a foreigner and have lost your identity. Is this really necessary for you?

Even today, I know there are many like me who still follow you and draw inspiration from you, but while we are keen on making you sit on a golden throne, you are going and is sitting in dung. With you in comparison, I may have limited knowledge but this I say with full confidence, don’t get into politics, don’t keep giving conflicting statements, don’t confuse others. If you come today also into films, we will pray for you and will give you the same glory that you always had.

And it pains to see your recent statements. Sometimes you say you quit films and in no time you say you are rethinking. On the first hand, why should you even declare about anything. What will happen to many like me if you just end things with a statement. Once again I am saying, please don’t think you will shine big in politics like you did in films. That’s a dirty gamble you are playing. Kindly come back to us and we will make up for all the bitter experiences you had in the last two-three years.

Either you stick to your word correctly or never give a word. But by not doing both, you are putting people like me in embarrassment. I still take pride in being your fan but if you only keep doing some doodle things then where will I stand? Chiru..you were…you are…you always will be…our megastar. There is still time for you to make amends. Please do that and make us proud. Jai Chiranjeeva!!

Why is family important?

Through family we find ourselves as we give and receive support.

Family brings out the best and worst in each of us. As we yield to and serve others we learn to love them and ourselves in the process. Many of us could never approach this form of selflessness in any other way. There is something about a mother or a father, a son or a daughter. There is a connection there that binds us and asks more of us then we are normally willing to give. When we are true to ourselves and follow our feelings and share openly and honestly with our loved ones we remember why family is important. And we are well rewarded for our sacrifice as it enables us to better appreciate who we are. On the other hand, when we yield to our selfishness and take our family members for granted or treat them poorly we lose our sense of self-worth and begin to despise those whom we once loved.

In our day-to-day interactions with our family we find out by our words and actions what kind of a person we are and what's most important to us. The character Levin in Anna Karenina put his family first and found himself through faith in God focused by his suffering. In the story he explained, "my life now, my whole life, independent of anything that can happen to me ... every minute of it is no longer meaningless as it was before but has a positive meaning of goodness with which I have the power to invest it." This "positive meaning of goodness" that Leo Tolstoy began to unravel in Levin's life with the birth of his son can be acquired by each of us as we strengthen our own family relationships.

Our families hold the keys to understanding and appreciating ourselves. Who can relate better to us then our own brother or sister that shared so many experiences with us? Who can love us more selflessly then our own mother or father who sacrificed daily for so many years to raise us? The better we understand our parents and siblings the better we understand ourselves. This understanding is most completely achieved as we look to our family's heritage with the help of our oldest living relatives. By discovering the customs, practices and traditions of our ancestors we uncover truths about our parents and ourselves. We find out how our grandparents treated our parents and so on from generation to generation. We discover the ambitions and fears of our forefathers along with their failures and triumphs. In the process of learning our family history we uncover our past, understand our present and shape our future.

Family is important because we are important and we need a group of loyal supporters. It matters what we think and feel and nobody cares more about us than the members of our families - at least, that's how it should be and it starts with us. The better we are to our spouses, children, parents or siblings etc. the more they will want to be better to us. When we can count on each other and lean on each other then family works. If we waltz in on family when it's good for us and run out when it's bad for us then we're not doing our part and will not find fulfillment there or elsewhere. Family is not only for our pleasure or entertainment but for all facets of life: for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do we part - we need a family and that family needs us. When we support our families we find ourselves supported.

On the ocassion of our second anniversary, we all went to Srinidhi Resorts, Hyderabad.

Weekend was fun with Colleagues at Srinidhi Resorts, near Ghatkeskar on Warangal Highway. We started with Breakfast, Cake Cutting and then by playing in the water slides (similar to Raging Waters). All of us jumped in, not just the kids. Next, we spent an at buffet lunch. Later we spent some time chatting and napping under the tree shades. Followed that with some games and rides and before we knew it, it was time to return home. At the end of all rain dance was really good.

    Alvida............. Maqbool Fida....!

Eminent painter Maqbool Fida Husain has died in London of a heart attack. He was 95.

Husain was admitted in the Royal Brompton Hospital for several days and died around 2.30 am this morning.

A recipient of Padma Vibhushan in 1991, Husain was in indifferent health for the last month and a half.

M F Husain, described by the Forbes magazine as the 'Picasso of India', was born on September 17, 1915 in Pandharpur, India.

His six-decade career began in the late 1940s when he joined the Progressive Artists' Group founded by Francis Newton Souza. These group of young artists aimed to disengage from the idyllic nationalist traditions of the Bengal school of art to imbue in their works a more avant-garde approach.

The painter has also had his share of controversies – some of his works were considered anti-Hindu – which strengthened his decision to go on a self-imposed exile in 2006. He accepted the offer of a Qatar citizenship in January 2010.

In 1996, he came under much flak for nude depictions of Hindu deities painted in the 1970s. He also got death threats from Hindu groups.

Husain never returned to India nor responded to summons of a Haridwar district court. His properties in India were therefore attached. There was also a bailable warrant against him.

Husain's main grouse remained -- and this was also of the entire artist community in India -- that the government made no attempts to bring him back.

    Nannari Herbal Drink!

My friend Lakshminath once took me to house and gave me this herbal drink. I brought a bottle of Nannari and started taking it once in a while.

This is mostly found in Rayalseema region of Andhra Pradesh especially in Ananthapur and Kurnool districts.

Nannari – a wonder herb that safeguards from common summer ailmentsThe herb ‘Sarasaparilla’, better known as ‘Nannari’ is a wonder herb which would come in handy during summer, with its cooling medicinal property of protecting one from common summer ailments. Our ancestors used to drink a mixture of extracts from ‘Nannari’ roots, adding a tint of lime juice and palm sugar (panamkalkandam) to keep them cool during summer. However, the palm sugar was replaced with white sugar, and in course of time, people were drawn towards other attractive alternatives.

Being a natural coolant, ‘Nannari’ is grown in cool places. The exposed part of the root is brown in colour, while the inner part is whitish. The root has an astringent taste and a pleasant odour. The herb is found in foothills and only the roots of the herb are used for extraction. 'Nannari’ roots have the medicinal quality of providing relief from constipation, and acidity, while also purifying blood. ‘Nannari’ extract is prepared from its roots through steam distillation, after which, it is mixed with citric acid, water and sugar, in certain proportions, to constitute the ‘Nannari’ concentrate or syrup. About 50ml of this syrup is diluted with 145ml of cold water and 5 ml of fresh lime juice, to make 200 ml of delicious sherbet.‘nannari’ roots, reveals that the herbal mixture has no side-effects, as it acts as a diaphoretic. It is used as a demulcent to relieve body pain, and helps in keeping the body cool. It helps us in digestion and gastroenteritis. It is also a diuretic, and helps in toning urinary system, while also preventing stone formation. It also controls tonsillitis.

God Of Music - Music maesto ilayaraja celebrates 67th birthday

Few personalities have really defined how blissful it is to be associated with music. Maestro ilayaraja is, without doubt, one amongst them when it comes to the Indian Film Fraternity. Over 30 years of filmdom, he has endeavored fetching great honors for Indian film music.

This wizard celebrated his 67th birthday and it’s really worthwhile to know things about him that come down the memory lane. He who had brought a new whiff of air was gifted with magic that could soothe one’s ear. This unique person is an amalgamation of folk, carnatic and Western Music. He is a gold medalist from the Trinity College of Music, London. He has composed music for more than 4500 songs. ilayaraja came at a time where there was heavy stagnation in the Tamil film industry. He entered the scenario in mid 70s and his compositions gave a fresh lease of air. The first film for which he composed the music was for the film was Annakilli and the sing was Annakilli Unnai Thedudhe. The authentically folk song was soon heard in every nook and corner in Tamil Nadu. Even today, this song is refreshing and nostalgic. He stabilized himself as a music composer through the film Kavi Kuyil(1977).

ilayaraja has three rudiments in him. , the first is the folk music of the Tamils, such as the labors and March songs. The second is Carnatic music and the third European classical music. There was folk music earlier but ilayaraja brought it in with its soul, with its earthy, rooty characteristics. He used authentic instruments like tharai and thappattai (drums). In many films he has demonstrated his skill over Carnatic music, handling some difficult ragas. He started learning western classical music very speedily when he came to Chennai is search of his bread. ilayaraja in hid first audition in 1968 played the piece Laura's theme from the film Dr. Zhivago on his harmonium. , in 1989 after dominating the film music scene for a decade, he brought out his first independent album "How To Name It" in which he established his mastery in fusion music. In cinema, a good music composer is not necessarily a good music director. ilayaraja's knowledge of cinema is obvious in his background scores, which add a new dimension to it. He pays closer concentration to this characteristic as few have done before. He watches the film fully, grasps the basic thrust of the film and adds appropriate musical score in the soundtrack.

May God Bless him with all health and let us hope to get some mroe best music from him!

    Happy Birthday Iliyaraja garu!

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is no more with us physically

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is no more with us physically. He left his earthly body on 24th April, 2011, at7:40 a.m. due to cardio-respiratory failure.

A human body is associated with six stages of transformation: birth, growth, change, evolution, death and destruction.
    Death accepts no excuse.
Tears do not move its heart.
Death gives advance notice of his arrival to take you — notice in the form of grey hair, falling teeth, failing vision, folding of the skin etc.
    Death may call any moment.
Every moment, everyone is nearing death.
Death is not a deplorable event.
    It is the journey’s end.

     — From the discourses of Sathya Sai Baba

    What is your favourite Color?

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Veteran actress Sujatha is No More!!!

I was so happy when i first saw her in the film shooting of VILAN (Telugu Version). Telugu Hero Rajasekhar is the hero and Sujatha played a care taker role of a Missionary where they take care of mentally challenged children. I heard she is very punctual and she is very honest to her profession. She is liked by many people in the film industry of her principles. It is sad to know that she passed away yesterday. God takes away only good people first. Thats why there is a saying in Sanskrit " Papi Chirayu". That means sinful people will have a longer life and will not reach in time.

I felt it is very important for me to share about her on my blog. So i am writing this small post on her. LONG LIVE SUJATHA!!! LONG LIVE SUJATHA!!!

Popular south Indian actress and yesteryear heroine Sujatha who is known for her stellar performances in women-centric roles passed away on Wednesday at her Neelangarai residence in Chennai. The 58-year-old actress was ailing from some disease and was taking treatment for the last few months according to close sources. The tall actress made her debut in tinsel town with a Hindi film titled Do Kaliyaan.
She also tried her luck in Malayalam with a film titled Ernakulam Junction written by actor Govindhan Kutti in vain. But her sensational debut in Tamil in 1974 with K. Balachandar’s Aval Oru Thodar Kadhai took her to dizzy heights. Yet another heroine-oriented flick Annakili in 1976 which also marked the debut of maestro Ilayaraja was a runaway musical hit.

Later she did films like Avargal, Vidhi, Lalitha, Amaidhi Padai, Andhaman Kadhali Uzhaipalli, Baba and so many other memorable roles. In the mid-1970’s, Sujatha was the sought after heroine and she has acted with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan who were just the beginners in the industry. She has also done many Telugu films including Gorintaku, Pelli, Sneham Kosam and a few Kannada and Hindi films. In later stages she donned the mother character of top heroes like Rajinikanth’s mom in Baba, Ajith Kumar’s mother in Varalaaru, Villain and Attagasam.

Her last film in Tamil is said to be Vaathiyar where she played Arjun’s mother. Ramanarayanan, director and president of Tamil Film Producers Association, says, “Tamil film industry has lost a great actress. It is an irreparable and irreplaceable loss for the film industry. She is a great human being also. She has acted in my film Suvappu Nila. She used to be very punctual on the sets and a down to earth person.”

Veteran Actor Nutan Prasad No More!!!

I am die hard fan of  Nutan Prasad especially his voice modulation. Once i met him at Ravindra Bharati and I was so happy with talk to him. He spent around one hour with me talking about variuos issues in film industry. Those were the days when i was trying my luck in films. He suggested me to stay away from film industry as i did not have back-up. He advised me to study well and get into a job and  then try luck when i have some source if income regularly other than films.

Paralysed in both his legs during a film shooting (Bamma Maata Bangaru Baata), actor Nutan Prasad who showed remarkable fortitude in times of misfortune and continued his film career despite the blow, died here in Hyderabad on Wednesday 30/03/2011.

The 65-year-old actor, born Thadivada Varaprasad, had been ailing for sometime and died while being rushed to hospital in the morning.

Nutan Prasad who acted in a few hundred movies had begun as a stage artiste before getting a break in films as a villain in 1973. He was born in Kaikalur village in Krishna district.

What endeared him to the masses was his style of dialogue delivery. His dialogue `Desham Chala Klishta Paristhithullo Undi' (the nation is going through difficult times) in the film `Patnam Vachchina Patrivratalu' was a huge hit with Telugu film audiences.

Nutan Prasad was also known as `Nootokka Jillala Andagadu (the most handsome man in 101 districts) for one such dialogue that he uttered in a film.

The comedy-villain had been confined to wheelchair from 1989 when a crane wire snapping during the shooting of `Baamma Mata Bangaru Maata' resulted in an injury to the backbone. As a result, he was paralysed in both his legs.

Undeterred and refusing to reconcile to a hopeless situation, Nutan Prasad continued to act in films and appeared in television shows. He also lent his voice to TV programmes.

Nutan Prasad had also served as secretary of Ravindra Bharati in a nominated post under the Department of Culture. As someone who had admired N T Rama Rao, Nutan Prasad also dabbled in politics aligning himself with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for sometime.

Some of Nutan Prasad's memorable roles was in `Rajadhi Raju' in which he plays Satan and danced for the song `Kothadevudandi Kongothadevudandi'.

He is also remembered for his role in `Muthyala Muggu' and films like `Khaidi', `Magamaharaju', `Srivariki Premalekha' and `Kathanayakudu'.

Nutan Prasad had won a Nandi award for best supporting actor in the film `Sundari Subba Rao' in 1984. He was also a recipient of the prestigious NTR national award.

He is famous for his voice over in Neralu - Ghoralu in Eenadu Television.

The Telugu film industry condoled the death of Nutan Prasad who had been an inspiration to most artistes for the dedication and committment he had towards his work.

MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO THE SOCIETY.

Following is a short awareness message from a friend..!

Germany is a highly industrialized country. It produces top brands like Benz, BMW, Siemens etc. The nuclear reactor pump is made in a small town in this country. In such a country, many will think its people lead a luxurious life. At least that was my impression before my study trip. When I arrived at Hamburg, my colleagues who work in Hamburg arranged a welcome party for me in a restaurant. As we walked into the restaurant, we noticed that a lot of tables were empty. There was a table where a young couple was having their meal. There were only two dishes and two cans of beer on the table. I wondered if such simple meal could be romantic, and whether the girl will leave this stingy guy. There were a few old ladies on another table. When a dish is served, the waiter would distribute the food for them, and they would finish every bit of the food on their plates. We did not pay much attention to them, as we were looking forward to the dishes we ordered. As we were hungry, our local colleague ordered more food for us.As the restaurant was quiet, the food came quite fast. Since there were other activities arranged for us, we did not spend much time dining. When we left, there was still about one third of unconsumed food on the table. When we were leaving the restaurant, we heard someone calling us. We noticed the old ladies in the restaurant were talking about us to the restaurant owner. When they spoke to us in English, we understood that they were unhappy about us wasting so much food. We immediately felt that they were really being too busybody."We paid for our food, it is none of your business how much food we left behind," my colleague told the old ladies. The old ladies were furious. One of them immediately took her hand phone out and made a call to someone. After a while, a man in uniform claimed to be an officer from the Social Security organization arrived. Upon knowing  what the dispute was, he issued us a 50 Mark fine. We all kept quiet. The local colleague took out a 50 Mark note and repeatedly apologized to the officer. The officer told us in a stern voice, "ORDER WHAT YOU CAN CONSUME, MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO THE SOCIETY. THERE ARE MANY OTHERS IN THE WORLD WHO ARE FACING SHORTAGE OF RESOURCES. YOU HAVE  NO REASON TO WASTE RESOURCES.´” Our face turned red. We all agreed with him in our hearts. The mindset of people of this rich country put all of us to shame. WE REALLY NEED TO REFLECT ON THIS. We are from country which is not very rich in resources. To save face, we order large quantity and also waste food when we give others a treat. THIS LESSON TAUGHT US A LESSON TO THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT CHANGING OUR BAD HABITS. My colleague Photostatted the fine ticket and gave a copy to each of us as a souvenir. All of us kept it and pasted on our wall to remind us that we shall never be wasteful.

Happy Holi : A Colorful Weekend!

Happy Holi To All. I am lucky to celebrate holi this time in Hyderabad. Most of the time i was working in Bangalore and Chennai and i missed the Holi celebrations all this time. Soaked in 'gulal' and swaying to the tunes of 'Rang Barse,' Hyderabadis trooped onto the streets of the city on Monday to celebrate Holi and as the day progressed, rang, bhaang and masti simply flooded all corners of the city.

Almost in all pockets of Hyderabad, residential societies organised their own little dos. Thats showns the difference between Hyderabad and other cities of India. From the narrow lanes of Old City to the plush corners of Banjara Hills, the bright colours of Holi were visible everywhere. Vendors selling gulal and colours in Ameerpet were cheerful at the good sales this year. Said one of them, "There was some enthusiasm among people last year too but this year the spirit is really high. People are buying colours in huge Colors, water guns, and gujia are the essence of Holi, the exuberant festival of colors. Though it’s fun to play with colors and water, the aftershocks are skin, hair and eye problems such as rashes, itching, allergies, corneal abrasion and dryness.

However, that does not mean you avoid joining in the excitement. It would be better to go the tech way and use the modern day amenities to wish and celebrate holi, however if you can't resist, just follow a few precautions to keep those health hazards at bay. “ Always pick up natural colors such as gulaal made from flowers such as rose and marigold.

Stay clear of heavy colours such as purple, electric blue, green and black since these often contain harmful metal oxides such as lead oxide, which are extremely harmful for the skin. The chemicals in these colours cause contact dermatitis and skin allergies,” says Dr Chiranjiv Chabbra, dermatologist, Skin Alive Clinic.

One also runs the risks of getting dry skin and pigmentation since some colors are photosensitive. When they come in contact with sunlight, they burn the skin. This leaves deep pigmentation, which in rare instances can even lead to skin cancer.

Washing and scrubbing the skin to get the colors off leads to an even more severe problem. The best way to protect your skin from the impact of color is to apply coconut oil or Vaseline an hour before you start playing. These act as a barrier against the colors by blocking the skin pores. The same rule applies to your hair, which also absorb color in the roots and becomes weak and brittle. To prevent this, use baby oil or coconut oil.

People tend to use soaps to remove colors, which can be harmful since soaps contain esters that erode the skin layers and often cause a rash. It’s better to wash with plain water and use a soap- free cleanser.

Homemade besan and flour mixed in milk cream is also good for skin cleansing. Moisturize your skin generously after the bath and also use sun screen lotion since the dyes present in colors makes the skin more vulnerable to sun burns, darkening and rashes. If you feel slight irritation, apply calamine lotion.

Color lodged in the nails is hard to deal with since it binds with the skin under the nail and you can end up with pink or green- colored nails. Here again the best bet is to use petroleum jelly to prevent this. Also avoid a pedicure or manicure for a day or so. These treatments can either damage the nail or the cuticle, which is a covering between the skin and the nail. This way if the color is lodged inside, it would be pushed deeper.

Health hazards at bay as you revel and rejoice during the color riot During Holi, there is a need to save your eyes from irritants as well since colors are full of harmful compounds. The colors that stick to the inner surface of upper eyelid need to be removed by an ophthalmologist.

“ When colored powder gets rubbed in the eye, it can lead to corneal abrasions, corneal ulcers and even tattooing of the cornea leading to a permanent fall in vision.

“ Wash the eye immediately and if vision is blurred rush to your nearest doctor. Don’t wait because the injury would not go away with time, it would only get worse”.

    Judgement!

Judgement means a stale state of mind. And mind always wants judgement, because to be in a process is always hazardous and uncomfortable.

Be very very courageous, don't stop growing, live in

the moment, simply stay in the flow of life.

This story happened in the days of Lao Tzu in China, and Lao Tzu loved it very much:

There was an old man in a village, very poor, but even kings were jealous of him because he had a beautiful white horse. Kings offerred fabulous prizes for the horse, but the man would say, "This horse is not a horse to me, he is a person. And how can you sell a person, a friend?" The man was poor, but he never sold the horse.

One morning he found that the horse was not in the stable. The whole village gathered and said, "You foolish old man! We knew that someday the horse would be stolen. It would have been better to sell it. What a misfortune!"

The old man said, "Don't go so far as to say that. Simply say that the horse is not in the stable. This is the fact; everything else is judgement.

Whether it is a misfortune or a blessing I don't know, because this is just a fragment. Who knows what is going to follow it?"

People laughed at the old man. They had always known he was a little crazy. But after fifteen days, suddenly one night the horse returned.

He had not been stolen, he had escaped into the wild. And not only that he had brought a dozen wild horses with him.

Again the people gathered and they said, "Old man, you were right.

This was not a misfortune, it has indeed proved to be a blessing."

The old man said, "Again you are going too far. Just say that the horse is back...who knows whether it is a blessing or not?" It is only a fragment.

You read a single word in a sentence - how can you judge the whole book?"

This time the people could not say much, but inside they knew that he was wrong. Twelve beautiful horses had come.

The old man had an only son who started to train the horses. Just a week later he fell from a horse and his legs were broken. The people gathered again and again they judged. They said, " Again you proved right! It was a misfortune. your only son has lost the use of his legs, and in your old age he was your only support. Now you are poorer than ever."

The old man said, "You are obsessed with judgement. Don't go that far. Say only that my son had broken his legs. Life comes in fragments and more is never given to you."

It happened that after a few weeks the country went to war, and all the young men of the town were forcibly taken for the military. Only the old man's son was left because he was crippled. The whole town was crying and weeping, because it was a losing fight and they knew that most of the young people would never come back. They came to the old man and they said, " You were right, old man - this has proved a blessing. maybe your son is crippled, but he is still with you. Our sons are gone forever."

The old man said again, " You go on and on judging. Nobody knows!

Only say this, that your sons have been forced to enter the army and my son has not been forced. But only God, the total, knows whether it is a blessing or a misfortune."

Judge not, otherwise you will never become one with the total. With fragments you will be obsessed, with small things you will jump to conclusions. Once you judge you have stopped growing. Judgement means a stale state of mind. And mind always wants judgement, because to be in a process is always hazardous and uncomfortable.

In fact the journey never ends. One path ends, another begins: one door closes, another opens. You reach a peak; a higher peak is always there. God is an endless journey. Only those who are so courageous that they dont bother about the goal but are content with the journey, content to just live in the moment and grwo into it, onlythose are able to walk in the total.

    What Happens in Heaven?

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received."

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world. Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them."

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, ideally doing nothing. "This is the Aknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed "How is it that? There's no work going on here?" I asked.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked.

"Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world.

"If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity."

    Also .....

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation .. you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

"If you can attend a church meeting without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.

"If your parents are still alive and still married .. you are very rare.

If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair."

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

    Story of Appreciation

I got this mail from a friend. It is very interesting.

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "none".

The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"

The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show
his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, " Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and
read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.*

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother
felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that.It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: " Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'

The Director asked, " please tell me your feelings."

The youth said, Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, " This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

    Funny Einstein

This is a very funny thing i heard about Einstein. I started my day reading this mail from a friend. It is really funny.

Einstein was once traveling from Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger. When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest pocket. He couldn't find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser pockets. It wasn't there, so he looked in his briefcase but couldn't find it. Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn't find it.

The conductor said, 'Dr. Einstein, I know who you are. We all know who you are. I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry about it.'

Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the aisle punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees looking under his seat for his ticket.

The conductor rushed back and said, 'Dr. Einstein, Dr. Einstein, don't worry, I know who you are. No problem. You don't need a ticket. I'm sure you bought one.'

Einstein looked at him and said, 'Young man, I too, know who I am. What I don't know is where I'm going'

    Intelligent Indians

While visiting India, George Bush is invited to tea with Abdul Kalam. He asks Kalam what his leadership philosophy is. He says that, it is to surround himself with intelligent people. Bush asks how he knows if they're intelligent. "I do so by asking them the right questions," says Kalam. "Allow me to demonstrate." Bush watches as Kalam phones Manmohan Singh and says, "Mr. Prime Minister, please answer this question: Your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?" Manmohan immediately responds, "It's me, Sir !"
"Correct.. Thank you and good-bye" says Kalam. He hangs up and says," Did you get that, Mr. Bush?" Bush nods: "Yes Mr. President. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely be using that!"

Bush, upon returning to Washington, decides he'd better put Condoleezza Rice to the test. Bush summons her to the White House and says,  Condoleezza, I wonder if you can answer a question for me." "Why, of course, sir. What's on your mind?" Bush poses the question: "Uhh, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?" Rice was puzzled and finally asks, "Can I think about it and get back to you?" Bush agrees, and Rice leaves. Rice immediately calls a meeting of senior senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours, but nobody can come up with an answer. Finally, in desperation, Rice calls Colin Powell and explains the problem.
"Mr. Powell, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?" Powell answers immediately, "It's me, of course." Much relieved, Rice rushes back to the White House, finds George Bush, and exclaims, "I know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It's our Colin Powell!" And Bush replies in disgust, "Wrong .. It's Manmohan Singh!"

    EMBRACING IMPERFECTION

When I was a little boy, I could remember, my mom making breakfast and dinner for us. And I remember one night in particular, when she had made dinner after a long, hard day at home. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of vegetables, salad and burned chapati in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed' Yet all my dad did was, to reach for his chapati, smile at mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but, I do remember watching him smear chatani on that chapati and eat every bite?

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad For burning the chapati. And I'll never forget what he said. Honey, I love burnt chapati. Later that night, I went to kiss daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his chapati burnt. He wrapped me in his arms and said
Dear , your momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired, And besides, a little burnt chapati never hurt anyone. You know life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people.

I am not the best housekeeper or cook. What I've learn t over the years Is that learning to accept each others faults And choosing to celebrate each others difference Is one of the most important keys for creating a healthy growing And lasting relationship. And that's my prayer for you today, that you will learn to take The good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life And lay them at the feet of God Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able To give you a relationship Where burnt chapatti isn't a deal-breaker" We could extend this to any relationship, in fact . As understanding is the base of any relationship ,
Be it a husband - wife or parent - child or even with friends.

Don't put the key to your happiness in Someone Else's pocket, but, into your own

    Human Brain Analysis!

    Women - Multiple process
Women's brain is designed to concentrate multiple tasks at a time.
Women can Watch a TV and Talk over phone and cook the new recipe.

    Men - Single Process
Men's brain designed to concentrate only one work at a time. Men cannot watch a TV and talk over the phone at the same time. He stops the TV while Talking. He can either watch TV or talk over the phone or cook.

    LANGUAGE.
Women can easily learn many languages. Her brain sets up. But cannot find the solutions to problems.

Men cannot easily learn languages; he can easily solve the problems.
A 3 year old gal has three times higher vocabulary than a 3 year old boy.

    ANALYTICAL SKILL
Men's brain has lot of space for handling the analytical process. So easily he can analyze and find the solution for a process.
He can design (blue print) a map of a building easily.
If a complex map is viewed by women, she cannot understand it. She cannot understand the details of the map easily.
For her it is dump of lines in a paper.

    CAR DRIVING.
While driving a car, men's analytical spaces are used in his brain. He can drive a car fast.  If he see an object at long distance, immediately his brain classifies the object's (bus or van or car) direction and speed of the object and drive accordingly. Where as women take a long time to recognize the object direction/ speed. His single process mind stops the audio in the car (if any), then concentrating only on the driving.
You can often watch, while men driving the car fast, the women sit next to him will shout, "GO SLOW" , "CARE FULL", "AAHHH", "OHH GOD.." ..etc..

    LIE
Many times, when men lie to women face to face, they get caught easily.
Her super natural brain observes the facial expression 70%, and the body language 20% and the words coming from the mouth 10%. So he is easily caught while lying.
Men's brain does not have this.
Women easily lie to men face to face.
So guys, While lying to your girls, use phone, or letter or close all the lights or cover your/her face with blanket..

    PROBLEM.
End of day, if men have lot of problems, his brain clearly classifies the problems and puts the problems in individual rooms in the brain and then finds the solution one by one.

You can see many guys looking at the sky for a long time. If you disturb him, he gets irritated.
End of Day, if women have lot of problems, her brain can not classify the problems. she wants some one to hear that. After telling everything to a person she goes happily to bed. She does not worry about the problem being solved or not.

    WANTS
Men want STATUS, SUCCESS, solutions, big process... etc
    Women want RELATIONSHIP, friends, family...etc...

    UNHAPPY
If women are unhappy with their relations, they can not concentrate on work.
If men are unhappy with their work, they can not concentrate on the relations..

    MAP
Men can easily locate the place in a complex map. His analytical brain does this.
While watching a cricket match in a stadium with full of crowd, men can leave his seat to tea shop and keeps everything in his mind and comes back to his seat with out problems. He uses his analytical skills space of brain.
Women can't do this. They often lose their way to their seat.

    LIFE
Life is very easy to Men. One good job,(One alcohol bottle is enough for them - Optional)
    Women want everything in life.

    SPEECH
Women use indirect languages in speech.
Merlin asked Sam, "Sam do you like to have a cup of coffee?"
This means, Merlin wants a cup of coffee.

Men use direct language. "Merlin, I want to have a cup of coffee, Pls stop the car when you see a coffee shop".

    HANDLING EMOTION
Women talk a lot without thinking.
Men act a lot with out thinking.

That's why many of prisoners are men all over the world.
